Basement renovated in 2001

A foul odor in the basement was because of the insulated outer wall was heavily contaminated with mold.
After aseveral cleanings with KefaWash, KefaRid was applied with about 1,000 grams per m2.
The wall has not since been painted, and can be seen today clean and dry.

The wall and insulation is wet and mold have strong potential for growth.

This is the normal, but wrong way to insolate a basement wall, as the damp from the wall cannot evaporate to the room.

 It is very important to give the wall a good cleaning with KefaWash, that will clean of the mold and also put a layer that prevent it from growing again. Best is to repeat the treatment several times before applying KefaRid.

 

Basement with former mold problems - after treatment with KefaRid Interior 

KefaRid draws moisture out of the wall and let it evaporate naturally to the room. It is important to mention that there has to be proper ventilation in the room.

The wall is still free from mold and moist stains even it was last painted back in 2001.

KefaRid has additionally incredibly good insulation properties, and if used together with DrainPutz, the insulation figures will be almost the same as with ordinary insulation.
