Remove the moisture and get rid of mold

Severe mold problems are always caused by moisture in the house. Ventilation and venting is crucial if you want to get rid of mold in your home.

proper ventilation is crucial if you want to avoid mold problems.
You can use either mechanical ventilation or open the windows and ventilate. You really must not use the newspaper to close the ventilation ducts in the wall or close the ventilation grates.

Close the door when showering

You can also try to limit the sources of moisture in your home. It is recommended that you limit the moisture from cooking, bathing and laundry. You can include to use the extractor fan and put a lid on the pots, close the door to the bathroom when showering, and dry your clothes outdoors or in a dryer with vent so the humid air end up outside the house.

Clean aff mold with KefaWash

We often see problems with mold, when we are out on a visit to homeowners, who have problems with moisture.
- Fortunately, the problems is often only to an extent where they can be solved by washing the affected surfaces down with KefaWash, which is an odorless detergent specially developed for mold. Then, ensure better ventilation so the problem does not come back, she says.
Senior Consultant Anne Pia Koch of the Danish Technological Institute agrees that cleaning can solve the small problems, if there is only a bit mold growth.
- If there is just a little mold growth in the joints in the bathroom, so it is a problem that can be solved with cleaning, she says.

The mold must be removed

But when things go really wrong, it takes more than cleaners to make amends.
- Once there has come molds, so it helps either with venting or cleaning. Too much ventilation may actually make the problem worse because the surfaces get cold, so there will be condensation and thus more mold.
Instead, you start to clean the mold completely gone. And the materials that cannot be cleaned clean, you have to throw out. This applies. wallpapers, plasterboard, plaster, insulation and furniture that is mold on.

No one knows how much mold it takes
Mold growth in the home can cause health problems such as asthma, allergies, headaches, concentration difficulties and irritation of the eyes and respiratory tract. But no one knows how much mold it takes before people get health problems.
- Experts still disagree on how dangerous mold in the home is, says mold expert Anne Pia Koch. It varies how much it takes before different people react. The general picture is that allergy sufferers and children stand at least, followed by women and eventually men. However, when people are first exposed to the mold, then it often takes less before they react

Mold Problems is always caused by moisture

Since mold can only grow on surfaces where humidity is high, mold problems is always caused due to that there are moisture problems in your home. Measured with a moisture meter, humidity must be higher than 75 percent (RH) Relative Humidity close to the surface before the mold can grow there.
- If you have large areas of mold growth, it is an indication that there is a source of moisture in your house. It may be a leaking roof, leaking plumbing or a cold outside wall or window frame where condensation may occur when warm, moist air from the room meets the cold surface.

Solve the moisture and mold problem

Whether it's moisture through condensation from the room air or moisture coming from inside the wall, the use of plastic paint is often the problem. Plastic paint prevents the natural migration of moisture through the walls and the moisture that is already in the walls cannot get out.
The moisture that is already inside the walls may come from leaks in the roof or leaking water and drainage pipes. It may also be rising damp from the ground, or small cracks in the plastic paint outside or inside. The moisture in the walls will increase, and with time the water pressure get so big that the paint and the plaster bursts of.

Using KefaRid Interior anti-moisture and anti-mold paint, this will not happen, since the walls will be able to breathe. Besides letting the walls breathe, KefaRid absorb moisture from the wall and lets it evaporate into the indoor air. It is therefore important to have proper ventilation, but you will have a nice dry and healty home for many years, as the KefaRid System is environmentally friendly and works forever.

KefaRid Interior, anti-mold and anti-humidity

The basic function of KefaRid is to prevent mould from starting to grow due to lack of moisture. There are no chemicals involved in this process in sharp contrast to conventional anti-mould paints whose function is to kill the mould by the use of fungicides, bactericides and other chemicals. These chemicals become used up and exhausted after only a few years and lose their killing capability. The absorption/evaporation process of KefaRid is purely physical and hence KefaRid retains its combating properties forever.
